What attracted you to OutSystems initially, and how has your perception evolved since then?

When I had my first interviews with my Portuguese colleagues, I was struck by their passion for both work and life.

OutSystems has remained a melting pot of cultures, even more so as we expand worldwide. I still have the privilege of working with passionate colleagues from across the globe. During the interview process, I was encouraged to read the "Small Book of the Few Big Rules," which reflects the company's commitment to preserving and nurturing the OutSystems culture.

Until this date, I would say that people are the ingredients that keep me going in the company. We have brilliant minds who always look ahead to innovate the OutSystems product and supportive leaders who care about my views, my well-being, and are always open to discussions. I have a great team of beautiful people who are passionate about their work.

In what ways has OutSystems contributed to your professional growth?

My journey with OutSystems has been of gratitude and growth.

In 2015, I joined as the APAC Field Marketing Manager, overseeing the marketing strategy for Asia Pacific. As the first marketing person hired for the region, I intended to build a presence in APAC and add value to the company with my marketing skillsets.

The company recognized my potential as the business expanded, leading to my promotion to Senior Field Marketing Director. I now lead a team of skilled Field Marketing Managers, and I've had the privilege of learning from exceptional leaders who aren't afraid to share their wisdom. Many of these great leaders led by example. OutSystems operates at a fast pace, providing continuous learning opportunities.

How does OutSystems make you feel seen, valued, and supported in your daily experience?

OutSystems has placed an enormous trust in me, allowing me to realize my full potential over the years. Coincidentally, I received both promotions during my pregnancies, and I'm grateful for the belief my managers and stakeholders had in me, giving me the opportunity to grow.

My Field Marketing team provided exceptional support during my maternity leave. Now, as a mother of two, I deeply appreciate the support, trust, and flexibility OutSystems has given me.

What advice would you give new OutSystems employees to succeed from day one?

Begin by gaining a deep understanding of the OutSystems product, especially in your early days. We have fantastic Solution Architects who are always willing to help you understand how OutSystems works.

No matter your role, the product is at the heart of the company, and we should all be brand ambassadors. OutSystems is a global company, growing at a fast speed. Therefore, communication and collaboration are very important to ensure alignment, especially since we have colleagues working in different time zones.

Be patient and persistent, as success takes time. Be patient with yourself as you learn to grow within the company. Acknowledge your small and big achievements to stay motivated and remain open to learning new things.
